About shockwave therapy
Shockwave therapy is used primarily for pain relief and tissue regeneration. It increases blood circulation and angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels),promoting new tissue growth.

How radial ESWT works
Compressed air accelerates a projectile within a guiding tube that strikes a metal applicator placed on the patient's skin. The kinetic energy is converted into a radial shock wave. The projectile generates stress waves in the applicator that transmit pressure waves into tissue to a depth of 4 to 5 cm.Direct shockwave and indirect cavitation effects cause hematoma formation and focal cell death, which then stimulate new bone or tissue formation.
The use of ESWT to reduce pain and promote healing in bone, tendon, ligament and fascia in patients with musculoskeletal disorders, and to reduce spasticity in patients with neurological disorders.

What is Ultrasound Therapy?

Ultrasound therapy is a method that uses high-frequency sound waves to speed up the body's healing process. It involves placing an ultrasound probe on the skin with the aid of a gel that allows the sound waves to pass easily. This treatment usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes and is also part of a treatment plan at a physical therapy center or clinic.
It energy can penetrate deep into the tissue, even to the superficial muscle layer, without harming the outer layer of the skin. This allows for deeper tissue tightening than other skin treatments and avoids the side effects of treatments that damage the outer skin layers.
Ultrasound therapy is also a non-invasive method of skin regeneration. It creates controlled thermal damage in the tissue, triggering the body's natural healing process and promoting the production of new collagen.

Why is proper tissue healing important?

When a muscle, ligament, or other tissue is injured, the body sends blood and swelling to the area to start the healing process. This causes scar tissue to form. However, if the fibers in the scar tissue are not properly aligned, they are not as strong or flexible as the original tissue. In some cases, this can cause tightness or weakness in the muscle or ligament, even after the injury has healed.
How does Ultrasound Therapy work?
When ultrasound waves reach injured tissue, they cause tiny vibrations and generate heat. This heat increases blood flow to the area, bringing more oxygen and healing chemicals to the injured area. Additionally, the ultrasound waves help speed up the delivery of these healing chemicals from the blood to the tissue, helping to form new, properly aligned tissue fibers.
In short, Ultrasound Therapy helps the body heal and rebuild tissue in the fastest and most effective way possible.

What types of injuries can ultrasound therapy help treat?
Treatments are generally well tolerated, and any side effects (such as swelling, redness, bruising, and temporary skin discoloration) are usually mild, short-lived, and disappear on their own.
Ultrasound therapy is particularly effective in treating soft tissue injuries such as:
- Ligament sprains
- Muscle strains
- Tendonitis
- Tennis elbow and golfer elbow
- Plantar fasciitis
- Stuck-together scar tissue
- Bruises and contusions
- Depending on the parameters set in the Intelect Puls50 machine, ultrasound therapy can be an effective tool for treating both sudden injuries and long-term chronic conditions, helping patients recover completely and quickly.

Why is it recommended to combine shockwave with ultrasound therapy?
1. Complementarity of action levels
When the two are used in combination, comprehensive conditioning of tissues at different levels can be achieved to improve the treatment effect. Shock wave therapy targets deep tissue damage and inflammation, while ultrasound therapy focuses more on the health of superficial soft tissues. This combined use can accelerate the tissue repair process and shorten the treatment cycle.

2. Comfort of treatment experience
Shock wave therapy: Although the effect is obvious, the physical sensation is strong, and people who experience it for the first time may find it difficult to accept.
Ultrasound therapy: It is popular with patients for its comfortable physical sensation. Ultrasound treatment usually does not cause obvious discomfort, and patients are easy to accept and persist in completing the entire course of treatment.
3. Wide range of application
When shock wave therapy and ultrasound therapy are used in combination, the treatment range can be expanded and the treatment effect can be improved. This combination therapy is not only suitable for the treatment of acute injuries, but also for the rehabilitation and pain management of chronic diseases.

This combination therapy provides patients with a comprehensive, efficient and comfortable treatment plan.
